At the end of last year, I was contacted by several residents in Milton and Waterbeach who said they had been threatened by young people driving dangerously on quad bikes throwing mud balls and shouting sexual abuse.
This is unacceptable – nobody should be able to make others in the community fear for their safety.
Having written to Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Milton Parish Council and the Antisocial Behaviour team at South Cambridgeshire District Council about the experiences and concerns of my constituents, I am pleased that the Police have now pledged to increase patrols in the area and use drones to identify and/or pursue culprits when it is dangerous for officers to pursue in their vehicles.
Local residents are encouraged to continue reporting so that police can respond with the necessary resources and South Cambridgeshire Community Safety Partnership can direct resources towards the areas that need them most.
